I think I got the name right, but I saw these in a catalog that came in the mail.  Apparently, they stretch to fit on top of the tips of your sticks to make your playing near-silent.  I've always been interested in quietness so I can play at night (soundproofing, electric kits, etc.), so I wanted to know if anyone had ever used these?  They're $6 or $7, so it's not a really cheap buy, and I want to make sure they work well.

Oh, they work great ... but they are not silent.
If you play on a table top, etc., it's still going to sound like you are playing on a rubber practice pad.

The only thing these "silent tips" do is prevent you from having to have a practice pad. Think of it having a practice pad mounted on the tips of your sticks.

Bottom line: they work great ... but they are not silent. Definitely quieter, lessening the impact of the sticks on a surface ... but not much difference between these and rubber practice pad ... in my opinion.

If you are thinking of using these on your drumkit ... there's albsolutely no way this will work. You can do it, but it will be FAR from silent.

Oh...I must've misunderstood their purpose then.  I might get them anyway so on trips I only have to take sticks and a book.
