As opposed to all the other uncast cymbals? Im glad you like the sound, but Im confused by this first bit. (No need for detailed cymbal making explanations either, I know that stuff, just curious as to your meaning)

I just prefer cast over sheet cymbals because of the sound. I've played on everything from Zildjian ZBT's to Sabian AAXs to Wuhans to the Paiste Dimensions I play now. I just prefer their sound to other, is what I mean. ^_^

I use a Old pearl export, the best one. Its a rocking kit, its a really dark blue, but it sometimes looks purple. It has 10" 12" 14" and 16" toms, a 23" x 18" bass drum, a 14" x 6" snare The three high toms are really handy. I use all premier hardware. And i use, sabian, zildjian, paiste and pp cymbals, and i just love my b8 sabian ride. Everything i have has worked great.

"Your" Favorite Drum Kit

Hi all, My first post here figured this was a good place to start. Been playing drums for 25 years, took a few years off and recently got back into it.

My kit:

1. Premier Projector's
2. 3 ply Birch shells with German Beech reinforced bearing edges.
3. Black Sparkle hand rubber lacquer finish
4. Two - 16x22 kick drums, 9x8 , 9x10 , 10x12 , 11x13, toms 14x14 , 16x16 Floor toms The snare is a Yamaha maple absoulte 7x14 black sparkle finish. I also have 4 Pearl Quater toms , Aluminum shells 6x12, 6x15, 6x18, 6x21, and 3 pacific mini timbales 6", 8", 10".

I chose this kit because my other older kit is a set of Premier XPK's and I was very impressed with their sound for an entry level kit. So I new this all birch kit would sound great. Another factor was that these were used and I got a very good deal on them.

Why? $1,000.00 for everything but the ride and hi-hats. Thats why. Now that I have them, I must say they are the best sounding easiest to tune drums I have owned yet. I have owned some old Stanless steel Ludwigs, Yamaha Stage, Yamaha Custom Recording, Sonor Phonic Plus and Tama cheapies.

My main drum set at this time, is a 6. ply Finnish Birch kit. Made in 1988. I always wanted a custom made kit. As a pro musician i use this kit for just about everything. Heres the details,

EDDIE RYAN CUSTOM drums. Green silk pearl finish. The drums were made in London. in the UK.

5.5"x14" wood, SD.
8"x10" ST.
9"X12" ST.
15"X15" FT.
15"X18" BD.

I am more than pleased with the kit . And have used it for small group,and big band work, also for recording.
