Did anybody used these "ugly rubber cotruptions" ? ..  http://www.lpmusic.com/Product_Showcase/Conga_Accessories/lp_conga_feet.htmlPlease, let me and DC know what you think. I found that I like to play seated but of course loose most of that bass sound... The drum I am holding is tilted but it's usualy higher pitched quinto so the bass is not that great ... |

I tried and don't like 'em. Not stable enough. I prefer the short three legged stand you stick the end of the conga in and it elevates a couple of inches. I also play them flat on the floor a lot, tilt the quinto. The tumba still sounds good if its flat on a wood floor.

I made my own conga feet. I made them out of sections of 2x4 with a groove cut down the center with. I use three for each conga. I don't use them often though. they do work for opening up the bass tones.

My congas have the permanent three feet ... but LP doesn't offer those any more. I love them and it allows me to sit and play ... plus I have the Collapsible Cradles so I can stand. Best of both worlds.
To be honest, I didn't think those "rubber contraptions" would work very well, and I'm thankful I have the stable legs for mine.

I sometimes use only 1 Rubber foot in a seated position with a SuperTumba.
This allows me to get a base tone without lifting this big heavy drum off the ground with my heels.

I've used the LP rubber feet but found that I had to keep duct-taping them to keep them in place and, of course, the duct tape didn't stick very well to the bare wood inside the shell.
IM me if you want to buy 3 sets cheap - I'm using an LP Triple stand now because I've found that I prefer to stand while playing.
Of course, the "hack" is probably the better way to go, anyway.
