My 2 crashes consist of a Sabian AAX 16" Stage Crash & 18" AAXplosion Crash (I use this for my ride crash as well-The bell on it has an awesome sound). I'm looking to add 2 more crashes (1 in between my present cymbals and 1 lower pitch then the 18" Xplosion). Can someone recomend something in the Sabian line that would fit my needs so I have an idea what to play at my local Sabian dealer without having to pull every cymbal off the rack trying to find the right match? I'm looking for which direction I should be looking. I would be interested in a crash that I could ride alot (fast crash or ride crash) for the lower pitch!
My arsonal also consist of an 8" & 10" AAX Splash as well as a B8 14" Fast Crash (which I only use for effects since it sounds cheezy when you ride it) but does have its place on my rack.
Thanks! Any opinions Sabian Guys !

I use only Sabian cymbals, myself, and as I've said before, I love my HHX Evolution Effeks crash.  I'd swear by it.  It may not be the sound for everyone, but it's definitely worth a look and listen.  Though it is an effects crash it might not be what you're looking for (I have used it as a ride a few times, but the sound is nothing like a normal ride).

I'm not familiar with the tones of your 16" and 18" crashes, but I was thoroughly impressed with the Sabian 18" HHX Evolution crash.  Worth a listen.

I know that B8's are top notch quality but what about a 18" B8 crash ride?? I use two of them. One from the first generation and one from recently.Man have they progressed over time. And while I don't have any experiance I keep reading that the Neil peart Paragon line has some fantastic sounds to it.But I guess my main recomendation is just looking at the B8.

Oh, c'mon - that's the fun of cymbal shopping!

I recommend that you take your cymbals with you to the store, to help get cymbals that are complimentary in pitch.

For a lower-pitched one, try the 18" AA El Sabor. Great crash, killer bell, and okay for light to medium riding - a VERY versatile cymbal.

For a higher pitched one, I like the AAX Studio Crashes and the HHX Evolution Crashes. I also am a fan of the AAXplosion Crashes, but oddly my 17" seems to be lower in pitch than my 18" - again, I recommend you take your cymbals with you to make sure you get the sonic spread you're looking for.

Hope this helps!

Not that I'm sucking up to the moderator, but I have to admit I used to sell, listen and play alot of sabians and the 18" AA El Sabors were WONDERFUL.  Impressive little secret of a cymbal.  Can't go wrong with that one.  In fact, match all your cymbals to THAT cymbal.

I've got all Sabain cymbals and they serve me well. 16" & 18" Pro Sonix, 17" AA all crashes , B8 hats, and 20" Sonix ride. I've checked into the HHX  Evolutions and I am impressed with them. As Mr. A. says, take yours along for a guide and start trying them out. You'll find what your looking for. It may not even be a Sabian. There are other brands to check out. No problem with mixing. I remember a 20" A custom zildjian sizzle from a earlier time that I would like to have once again. Good luck and enjoy your search.

- I would go into your local sabian dealer's, and say those exact words that are above. He/she can then set you on the right track for cymbals to look at.
