Sorry if this is a repost, I tried to do a search and it wasn't working for me.
I use Sabian cymbal cleaner with a cotton rag on all my cymbals with great results, but I'm still unable to get those annoying Nylon tip marks from my sticks off no matter how hard I rub or let the cymbal cleaner stay on (it says not to let it dry). Any tips on how to get rid of those tip marks? I know they dont have any adverse affects on sound but they just annoy the hell out of me to have a nice shiney instrument with hundreds of tip marks on them. Thanks!

This is the other end of the scale from the Burying Cymbals thread in this section.

What kind of finish do you have on the cymbals--traditional or mirror? Do you have logos on the cymbals that you want to keep on them?

They are traditional finish Sabian AAX and they do have Logo's on them that I want to keep in tact!

Try Paiste cymbal cleaner.Thats what I use and I have all Sabain cymbals.I would think that the Sbaian and Paiste cleaners would be the same, but ya never know.

i was checking out a 20" zildjian K ride in a local drumshop and i asked the clerk "how much for this used ride". he said "actually it is new" and quoted me the list price. i said how come it is so marked up and he said oh that's just from people trying it out in the store. i advised him to not let people use nylon tips to audition cymbals. it looked like hell!

those streaks of nylon left on the cymbals are really hard to clean, and you will likely lose the ink logo in the process.

but the question is, will it remove dirt and soil once a buried cymbal is dug up? Cheesy Cheesy  Grin

Xena--it should scare you that you think like me!  Shocked

Bartender's Friend helps me keep my cymbals clean. Of course, I use Gorilla Snot on my fingers and the GS gets on my cymbals when I choke them. The Bartender's Friend helps get all the crap off and gives the cymbals a nice shine again.

Hey MightyDog, I was thinking of using Bartenders Friend but was unsure if it would be to harsh. I will be giving it a try this afternoon since I already own a can! I use it to clean my vehicle windshields to get the road scum and bugs off of it during every wash, it works like a charm if any of you have never tried it. It keeps your windhield clear and helps your wipers keep good contact with the glass without scratching! Awesome stuff....
