vater manhatten/guitar center 7A

light, wood, a small round bead gets me all the bounce i like, and the G.C. version is the same thing but for $3 a pair Smiley

i have a lot of other things i play with, but these are my favorite.  check the "whats in your stick bag" string for more details from a lot of people Smiley

Vic Firth--American Classic 5a
Why? They are always well balanced. I like the tip and shoulder and they just feel good to me. I don't like the plastic tips -- never have. I like Vic Firth brushes and Vader (I can't think of what they're called) but they are a great medium --  right between the brush and the stick. Like a bundle stick covered in plastic and then they retract -- just got them and they are useful for a lot of things.

Pro-Mark Japanese Oak 747B and 5A

I like the durability of the Oak on both.  the 747B's are for studio and live performances, the 5A's are for rehearsals and Live solos.

I also like the Pro-Mark Carter Beauford sig stix.  They are hickory (unfortunately, I prefer the white oak) with the length and width of a 5A and the neck of a 5B.  Nice drumstick.  I use it on the electronic drums at my Church gig.

Vater 5A Los Angeles, Nylon tips.

I recently re-tried a lot of sticks, Vic Firth, Zil, Regaltip, RimShot...name it. I even bought  Aheads!

And, I still prefer the Vaters...

Vic Firth 5BN's.  They've got a really nice feel to them, not too long, not too short, nice shoulder, and the nylon tips give for sweet cymbal definition.  I used to try a different pair of sticks every few weeks, but now I've settled for these. Smiley

I was considerin a pair those adead sticks, but they're quite expensive, although apparently they're quite versatile, and bust often.  Could someone tell me what they're like to play..? Huh

Last year I did a pantomine for charity, and used the hot rods for every song, they were perfect.  It's annoying that the bits of dowel break so easily. Angry
