"And I do the Cha-Cha like a little sissy Girl"

Hey guys. I'm looking to upgrade the snare wires on on a couple of my drums. One is brass and the other is wood (maple). I'm thinking about getting some Puresound replacements. Another drummer friend of mine said that this brand works well on some snares but not others.
This is the first time that I'm looking at snare wires closely. Sure you can get the ususal "Made in Japan/Taiwan" generic snares but what are our options and what experiences do others have with taking a step up from the supplied snares that they have? Was it worth it? Any feedback is appreciated but I'd be especially interested in experiences of those who have some higher end snare drums or who were kinda' blown away by the difference some snare wires made in the sound of a drum after replacing them (similar to when you try a new type of head on a drum and things are totally different).

I just put a set of Puresounds on my Premier HTS700 (pipeband snare) and the snare action coming of the top and bottom heads is brilliant and crisp.  I have yet to put them on the kit snare, but I plan on it.

I've put Puresound custom 16-strands on a brass snare. The difference is bigger than I expected before having put them on. It's somehow better defined and more sensitive. I think it sounds better now, but that's just my personal taste, you won't know till you actually try, I guess..
