Here is a link to something interesting about a drum mic.
The following is a quote.

Has anyone heard these yet? I picked up two at lunch today and will check them out tonight. Not sure if throwing a link in here is cool or not but check this thread about these mics. I have two in hand and the quality is outstanding for $20.00

This was posted on another forum.  I may pick up a couple at RS for this price.....can't hurt.  I'm thinking about the bottom of the snare for starters.

Interesting, but I am doubtful.  Hey, do you want a couple of Radio Shack PZM mics I'm trying to get rid of?
Probably not, but they are interesting just the same.

Plus I am at the stage in my life where if I am going to buy a mic for underneath my snare it's going to be a Neumann, Sennheiser, Blue or AKG.

I bought 3 for $20/each.  not bad at all; my singers like them for the rehearsal space as they feedback LESS than a 57 or 58...

for higher-pitched stuff, snares and small toms and the like, they're good.  not great, but a hell of alot better than you'd expect for $20.

in all truth, having the shock mounts alone is worth $20/mic.

I'm thinking of installing one inside an old tabla, and one inside the treble side of my dhol... cheap enough to experiment with, that's for sure.

Hey guys remember the rule of thumb, you get what you pay for, Felix If I can recomend a mic for under your snare I would say an sm-81, it works pretty good for me.  I've also used a 4050 not bad either.

Just my two pennies.
