Ndugu Chancler

Ndugu Chancler, born Leon Chancler on July 1, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana, is an American drummer, percussionist, composer, and producer, who has worked with the likes of Stanley Clarke, Jean-Luc Ponty, Donna Summer, George Duke, Patrice Rushen, Carlos Santana, Hubert Laws, The Crusaders, Frank Sinatra, Weather Report, Lionel Richie, Kenny Rogers, Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock and John Lee Hooker.

In 2006, Ndugu was appointed as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Southern California and teaches for three weeks each summer at the Stanford Jazz Workshop in California.

Ndugu is probably best know for his drum track on Michael Jackson's Billie Jean.
