My favorite under-rated drummers (aside from myself), in no particular order. . .

The late Karen Carpenter - a monster.  Saw her live in Chicago back in the day.  They turned her loose on an extended solo.  Amazing.

Don Brewer.  Master of the Snare/Tom/Bass triplet lick.  And everybody knows the slick opening to We're An American Band.

The late John Panozzo.  Some of his fills sound like boxes falling down a flight of stairs, (and Dennis DeYoung's vibrato is so wode you can drive a truck through it), but hey, Styx with John put some great, memorable tunes out there.  "Lady", with the Bolero ending?  Come on!  :-)

Danny Seraphine.  Catchy fills.  Memorable grooves.  His stuff with Chicago was/is creative and it still holds up today.

I would add Dave King of The Bad Plus to that list as well.  The guy is amazing and fun to watch.
