drum notation
« on: July 13, 2009, 04:41 PM »
Hi Bart,
Do you have any idea where I could get the drum music for Honky Tonk Woman(Stones) AND In My Life (Beatles )?
I looked online but do not want to buy the whole Beatles catalogue at $70.Looked on Youtube, as well.
Thanks!

I also think that the cowbell is being played by someone other than the drummer, Watts.

I don't have any suggestions for you as far as finding charts for these songs. Perhaps that's something I can transcribe and create, then make it available in the Premium Resources.

Here's the basic groove to " http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016CTSWW?ie=UTF8&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0016CTSWW]Honky Tonk Woman ", which I shared in a past issue of The PRess Roll:

The cowbell and drum parts were not played by one individual on the studio session. Charlie Watts was on drums and producer Jimmy Miller played the cowbell part. On the record, the cowbell is improvised and doesn't stick to one pattern throughout. As a drummer playing this cover tune, and covering the drum AND the cowbell part, you might want to take the approach I've notated above; keeping it simple and more consistent.
