Artist Close-up: Pete Abbott
« on: October 17, 2010, 02:38 PM »
On Drummer Cafe TV this week, I visit with Nashville drummer, Pete Abbott.

Pete is a super nice guy and a great player. In this "artist close-up", Pete gives a brief career overview, does some playing, and talks about two of his favorite Snare drums, both made by the Joyful Noise Drum Company.

Pete Abbott is a studio and touring drummer who has had careers in New York, Oslo, Norway and now Nashville.

In addition to being a drummer, he works as a string arranger and producer.  The following is a list of some of the artists he has worked with in the studio and/or live.  The Average White Band -- band member for 5 years and recorded 2 records; Tom Jones; Larry Carlton; Keb Mo'; Freedy Johnston; Phil Ramone; Will Lee; Blood, Sweat & Tears; Noel Pointer; Marianne Faithful; and Mary Clayton.
