Ever since the first time I saw Jeff Beck, Vinnie and Tal do Stratus I've loved that tune.  I never had the opportunity to play it until last summer when I stopped by The Baked Potato in Hollywood Ca on Open Jam night....what a fun night.

'Spectrum' one of my all time favourite albums.
Awesome Tommy Bolin on the original, although Jeff Beck is also/always amaaazing.

My Goodness Hannah - that was great!  Jams can be fantastic and great fun, 'specially when the quality of players allows this kind of stuff to be pulled off.

Hey Glad you liked it.

It was so random that they picked that song to play and THEN called me out on it. LOL  I had never played it before, but I wasn't gonna tell them that. LOLOLOLOLOL

I was unable to view the video since it was removed due to a copyright claim filed by the Baked Potato.
The techniques, though they play an important role in the early stage, should not be too restrictive, complex or mechanical. If we cling to them, we will become bound by their limitation.  Any technique, however worthy and desirable, becomes a disease when the mind is obsessed with it.
