LP Salsa Cowbell's change their Silver color to Rusty.

Hi, does anyone know how to prevent LP Salsa cowbells to go from that beautiful silver color when new to that ugly brown rusty color after a couple of months?

Not specifically... but I'm assuming they're not kept out in the rain or anything? :) Are they kept covered when you're not using them?

I need to find something to clean my cymbal... :)

I've had the same problem with rust on these particular cowbells ... however, I exposed mine to water on purpose (dipping it into a bowl of water while playing it ... for a performance effect).

Thanks. I dont cover my cowbells when I put them away, I just carry them around on a small bag with other cowbells and jam blocks and stuff, never exposed to rain though, I have 3 salsa bells, all went rusty. The sound is pretty much the same though, but it sucks that they look so cool when new and then turn brownish after a while. I guess its just exposure to humidity and other factors.
