Cymbal Crowns...my ongoing report
« on: March 19, 2012, 01:21 PM »
Hi Keith;

You may recall that a few years ago, on a site far, far, away, we discussed the Cymbal Crown.

I just wanted to re-start that discussion with you; I have begun to use them full time at my gigs and I want to see just how durable they are, as this was a concern of ours in our previous discussion.

Stay tuned!

Cool - I'll look forward to your reports. Thanks!
Hit on 2. Repeat on 4.

Well, after numerous gigs (including some gigs on the St-Patrick's Day weekend....infamous for hoards of inexperienced drinkers) I have to say that I'm impressed. The Cymbal Crowns are tough, make my life easier and the cymbals sound great.

But stay tuned....the test isn't over...

Continuing on with the test, I am very impressed with the durability of these Cymbal Crowns. I've gigged a bunch lately (lots of set-up, tear-down) and I love being able to simply drop my cymbals onto the crowns (which never leave my stands) and play.

They're staying on, they're tough and they work.

Add another month of set-up/tear-down and shows to the Cymbal Crowns with no issues whatsoever.

I've now added them to my home/studio kit.

And, the experiment continues...

Now, well into summer and many, many shows later....still no issues with the Cymbal Crowns; they're as good today as they were when I opened the box.

And....set-up/tear-down is so much quicker.

Almost a year and no issues whatsoever with the Cymbal Crowns; multiple set-up/tear-down and having gear tossed into trucks, vans and trucks; not a speck of damage. I have also outfitted my home studio kit with Cymbal Crowns and frequent cymbal changes occur and again; no issues at all. And, I like how my cymbals sound with the Cymbal Crown.

I can 100% recommend these.

Save your cymbals!
