Rockin' Docs for Diabetes Cure II, the 2nd annual benefit concert/fundraising event, will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2012, at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA, from 1:30 PM to 5 PM and is open to all ages. All profits will benefit the JDRF. The concert will feature five established local rock bands composed predominantly of doctor-musicians from several large hospital centers in the Philadelphia area (including Abington Memorial Hospital, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Doylestown Hospital, and Einstein Medical Center). Andre Gardner, WMGK Afternoon Drive On-Air Personality and host of Breakfast with the Beatles, will once again emcee the event. General admission tickets will be going on sale soon.

Our inaugural event held this past August at the Electric Factory was a huge success, raising $24,000 for JDRF. The event was featured on CBS Philly, NBC Philadelphia, WPVI (ABC), WMGK radio, as well as in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Jewish Exponent, and several other local newspapers.

Rockin' Docs was conceived and created by Kenneth Einhorn M.D (on right). and Jeremy Jaffe M.D. (on left - himself diagnosed with type 1 diabetes over 20 years ago), both of whom are fathers of children with type 1 diabetes. Their goal is that no family should ever have to deal with the pain and anxiety in learning a loved one has developed diabetes. And no one should ever have to carry the heavy burden of this disease throughout their lifetime.
