There has been a lot of rumors floating around about  http://www.vinniecolaiuta.com]Vinnie Colaiuta  letting go of his endorsements with Zildjian, Gretsch, etc., and that he's moving to Paiste and Ludwig.

All of this is still rumor ... however there has been more evidence coming forward that Vinnie has indeed chosen  http://www.paiste.com]Paiste  as his new cymbals of choice.

I guess it's because Vinnie is a "drummer's drummer" that I find this gear switch interesting; normally I couldn't care less.

One thing is for certain, Vinnie has removed links to Zildjian and Gretsch on his website!

Vinnie used to use a lot of A Customs, which (to my ear) are the most Paiste-sounding Zildjians on the market.

Okay ... NOW it's official ... Vinnie is now using (endorsing)  http://ludwig-drums.com/]Ludwig Drums  and  http://www.paiste.com]Paiste Cymbals .

Way to go Vinnie! Now you are playing the best cymbals and some of the best drums!!

For the doubters out there ... Vinnie has added links to Ludwig and Paiste on his website's link page.

I think everyone should play the instruments that speak to them, regardless of brand, but there are reasons why people have their preferences.

Everyone has their opinion and it just so happens that with what Vinnie says here, he speaks for me as well. This is how I've always felt about Paiste and why when I was given the opportunity to make a choice, I chose Paiste.

Mostly, I'm mindful of what a happy day it is for a most talented and hard-working family that my friends at Paiste are. Cheers to them.

Cool interview.  It makes me wonder just how much long time endorsers know of other stuff that's out there?  Since I'm in no danger of ever endorsing any manufacturers, I like to know all about what each manufacturer is up to.  But even then, there are so many manufacturers out there, that I can't keep up with a lot of them.  I discovered some really cool stuff at NAMM that I had barely heard of.  The number of choices today is staggering.
