Drum and Bass Cajon
« on: May 09, 2012, 12:09 PM »
Hello! I'm new here - never signed up to a drums forum before, but I figured its my career, I should be communicating with other drummers/percussionists. A bit about me, I play cajon as my sole source of percussion, not as a replacement for a drum kit - I think it's an exciting, varied and interesting instrument, not just something that should be used for acoustic gigs when you can't use a kit. My band play a mix of flamenco, drum and bass and hip hop, and for my first post (don't worry it's not a link to my band, I'm not a spammer) I thought I'd share a cool technique i came up with on the cajon.. Hope you like it, and I look forward to sharing more techniques with you guys :) so here it is:

My guess is red tape and he uses it to change the sound of the surface he's playing on. I'm sure he had many blisters before he built up callouses on his finger tips and the edge of his palm.   :-\
