Jeremy Sibson

Hi there,

I'm new around these parts, Jeremy Sibson from Tasmania, Australia.
I'm in the middle of a semester-long assessment task at University and I've chosen to transcribe the 34 measure drum solo from "Golden Wedding" by Frank Carlson and compare it to another version recorded in Australia by Ron Sandilands in 1976. This is the easy part. What I am asking for here on this forum is if anyone has, or can point me towards, reliable information about the tune. This can include anecdotes from Woody Herman band members, alternate recordings, sales figures, drum kit set-up, and the impact the tune had on music in the '40s. Also, I heard it was Woody's answer to Goodman's "Sing, sing, sing". Is this true. I will send a PDF of my transcriptions for Bart to upload somewhere if people want that too.
Hope someone can be of help. Oh, and any books that might have information of the tune too.
Cheers,
Jeremy.
