Care and feeding of a Brass Snare

Hey there brother and sister Cafe members!  Hope all my Cafe buds are doing well!  Looking for some advice for a brass snare I purchased a couple years ago.  When changing heads recently I noticed some rather significant condensation on the interior which has resulted in some minor corrosion.  Just wondered how best to "gently" address/correct the corrosion and what methods can be used to prevent this from happening in the future.
