Drum builder, Joe Patridge, who has been making drums for over twenty years, including making drums under the name of Famous Drums with George Lawrence, recently received one of the biggest surprises of his life.

In 1994 or so, Joe Partridge built a drumset which he intended to keep. At the time it was finished, it wasn't financially feasible for him, so the drumset was sold off the floor of Morrison Brothers Music. Fast forward 20 years. A few months ago, the kit resurfaced in another store (in amazing condition) and was purchased by Bill Richardson. Bill gave the drumset to Joe this past Saturday, November 8, during the store's Ringo Starr Drum Day event.

So why give the drumset back to Joe? Bill has decided this is the right thing to do for Joe: a man who has done and still does so many wonderful, kind and generous deeds for others. In true Joe-like spirit, Bill is giving this amazing instrument to Joe and didn't ask for any help. However, friends of Joe wanted to contribute, so money and notes of appreciation came pouring in.

In the below video, you'll see how Joe and his family had no idea what was about to take place. They only knew that Joe was going to be recognized and given a gift from friends!
