The Duallist
drumtrav:
I assume most of you by now have seen this pedal, or others like it. If you haven't, check it out www.duallist-usa.com
What are your opinions on these types of pedals? Are they a "Cheater" pedal, or are they the greatest thing since sliced bread.
clearseawater:
Yes.........to the spotted big cat question..
irishthump:
Have any of you guys tried using one of these things?
It takes a complete overhaul of you're technique to get the hang of one of those monsteres!
Does anybody remember a gatchet called the Vruk?
( I think that was the name)
clearseawater:
irishthump, to be honest, no I hav'nt BUT the advertising suggests it makes it easier to master those fast kick patterns and to me, thats cheating. Now im slightly qualified to say this as my feet are pretty slow due to Arthritis in my anckles so I would be an ideal candidate BUT I would feel it was cheating at my craft.
Id rather play slow feet patters and it be ALL ME rather than have a peddle that allows me to skip the burn..
Anyway, its never a good thing to skip on technique.....there isnt many fast tracks in drumming, not at higher levels (im not pointing any fingers here :))
My opinions thats all..............
irishthump:
Hey, sorry, no offence!
I think it's cheating too, my point is they make out like it will make it easier for you to master double bass licks, but in reality you have to alter your foot technique so much that it's just not worth the effort.
But anyway, the Vruk was a metal plat that attached to the footboard of any pedal and allowed you to play strokes with your heel. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE to use.
