how do i add a picture of my own to my profile?  I don't have a web page

These types of questions would be best resolved via email or Instant Message.

You must host your own image, then post it here. Your ISP will typically give you some webspace where you can store an image online, then reference on the forum ... like this:

You would use the URL in your Profile to display an image as well.

There are Internet companies that allow you to have free webspace, but the majority of them will not allow you to display images on any other site other than theirs, simply because they have to display ads in order to make money, which pays for your free web space.
