Big sky country will get a taste of the big city lights this fall as Saskatchewan's Music in The House proudly presents the first annual Regina Drum Festival.

"The event is the first of its kind in Saskatchewan," says creator  http://www.jaysonbrinkworth.com]Jayson Brinkworth . "This will be a two-day festival with the Friday night kick off featuring performances by local drummers, an all-star band and trade show. Saturday will be packed full of exciting events with the continuation of the trade show, two clinics and the Fastest Hands competition."

Drummer for Canadian country music sensation Aaron Pritchett, Brinkworth is no stranger to the drum clinic circuit. As the co-owner of Regina's top music school, Music in The House, he has brought a who's who list of drum talent to the province many times before including Chris Sutherland (Kim Mitchell, Saga), Billy Ward (Robbie Robertson, BB King), Kenny Aronoff (John Fogerty, John Mellencamp) and the drum industry's Global Ambassador Dom Famularo more recently in 2010.

"I see huge growth in the Regina and Saskatchewan music population, especially among drummers," says Brinkworth. "This is why in 2006 I started bringing in drummers from outside of Saskatchewan for clinics. These events have exceeded attendance expectations and have drawn attention way beyond the drumming and music community alone."

This year will be no different as Regina welcomes not just one but two industry giants to the Applause Dinner Theatre. Saturday Night Live house drummer Shawn Pelton and Keith Urban's Chris McHugh will both perform on Saturday, September 17.

"The artists I have secured this year are as world class as they get," beams the festival coordinator. "I see a bright future for this event. I believe an annual event such as this could put Saskatchewan on the list of places to experience musical education and performance on a world class level."

The festivities commence on Friday September 16 at 5:30pm with the kickoff party. Two day passes are $30 in advance, $35 at the door at Music in The House, St John's Music & Applause Dinner Theatre or online at  http://www.ticketedge.ca]www.ticketedge.ca .
