Stan Lynch

Stan Lynch, born Stanley Lynch on May 21, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio, is an American drummer, songwriter and record producer, best known for his 18 years of drumming for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Lynch was the original drummer for the band; he left in 1994. As a founding member of the Heartbreakers, Stan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Besides Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Stan has recorded with Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Don Henley, The Eurythmics, Aretha Franklin, John Mellencamp, Brian Wilson, Roger McGuinn, Stevie Nicks, The Byrds, Del Shannon, T-Bone Burnett, Warren Zevon, Belinda Carlisle and Freedy Johnston.

Stan’s songwriting and producing credits include Don Henley, The Eagles, Timothy B. Schmit, The Byrds, Ringo Starr, Steve Lukather, The Mavericks, Meredith Brooks, The Knack, Toto, Matraca Berg, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Olivia Newton-John, John Farnham, June Pointer, Eddie Money, Restless Heart, John Michael Montgomery, The Outlaws, Sister Hazel, Edwin McCain and Tim McGraw.
