Bill Ward

Bill Ward, born William Thomas Ward on May 5, 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, England, is an English drummer best known as the original drummer for the British heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. As an original founding member of the band, Ward also performed as lead vocalist on two Black Sabbath songs; "It's Alright" from the album Technical Ecstasy and "Swinging the Chain" from the album Never Say Die!

Dating back from 1970 to the present, Ward has over a dozen albums to his credit with Black Sabbath, plus a number of compilation albums with the band. His drumming can also be heard on several Ozzy Osbourne albums.

Bill Ward has several solo albums; Ward One: Along the Way (1990) and When the Bough Breaks (1997). In August 2013, Ward announced that he would soon be heading into the studio to finish mixing his third solo album, to be titled Accountable Beasts.

In 2012, Bill Ward was #16 on the list of the 30 Richest Drummers in the World.

Bill Ward made his first foray into the world of fine art with a debut collection, Absence of Corners, released on August 1, 2013.
