The great depression, prohibition’s end and the raucous jazz look. The sounds and look of the great Gatsby to the cool Bop era is coming to Shelburne Falls. Marcel Blanchet, producer of the jazz musical, The Journey of E, an anthology of jazz an homage to Edith Piaf that takes the audience on a trip guided by a newspaper boy using the headlines of the day as stopping off points for a musical cavalcade of numbers as he hawks his papers along New York City's Great White Way. The Journey of E brings the audience from the era of prohibition in America, through the hard times of the great depression on a voyage to Europe where the alluring Parisian influence of the "chanson" begins in Paris, the city of light and love, where romantic music of the late 30's and 40's is brought to life. Carolyn Raming as French singer and cultural icon Edith Piaf appears with Marcel and Beyond the Sun.

Marcel and Beyond the Sun featuring the jazz vocals of Carolyn Raming brings life to the story, The Journey of E and gives the music its soul. The show is currently on tour coast to coast. They will be appearing at Shelburne Falls Memorial Hall, 51 Bridge St, Shelburne Falls, MA. August 11th.

"We like performing in small town theaters across America. Just like in the 20’s and 30’s where working men and women would come to be entertained by silent films and vaudeville acts. For many residents, it would be the first place they would ever see a show," says Marcel Blanchet. "We hope people will come out to the show dressed in vintage clothing and drive to it in Antique cars of the 20s, 30s and 40s."
