Mapex announced the release of a new lacquer finish and a new
six-piece configuration for its best-selling M Birch drum series. The
new Studioease Configuration includes a 22x18 bass drum. 10x8 and 12x9
tom toms, 14x14 and 16x16 floor toms and a 14x5.5 snare drum. The set
includes five pieces of Mapex 550 Series hardware, including a bass
drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand, cymbal stand and a boom stand.
The M Birch Studioease configuration (MB6285A) carries a list price of
$1,869.99 for burst finishes and $1,689.99 for non-burst finishes.
Mapex is also extending its free add-on tom program thru 2008. Consumers that purchase any M Birch drum set through the Drummer Cafe can receive a free eight or ten-inch tom tom plus mounting hardware.
The beautiful new Hermosa Fade transparent lacquer finish has also
been added to the M Birch line-up for 2008. Transparent Midnight Black,
which was introduced to the series as a special edition color in 2007,
has been retained as a permanent color option for M Birch Series drum
sets.
The M-Birch Series features 6-ply, 7.2mm shells with an exterior maple veneer to accent the series' hand-applied, high-gloss transparent lacquer finishes. The drums are also equipped with the exclusive Mapex I.T.S. Isolated Tom Mount System, designed to extend the shell's resonance. M Birch drum sets come with an instructional DVD hosted by Mapex International Clinician, Dom Famularo.
