SABIAN Cymbals announces its 2009 Vault Tour will be held in select cities from September 25th through October 21th. Created to bring the magic that happens at the SABIAN factory to local drummers, the Vault Tour offers the opportunity to experience the craftsmanship involved in the art of cymbal making. Consumers will get the chance to have one-of-a-kind cymbals made onsite, witness demonstrations of hand hammering and cymbal lathing and gain access to key SABIAN personnel. Additionally, consumers will be able to purchase from a large array of one-off prototypes and best sellers from the SABIAN Vault.

Enhancing the interaction between SABIAN and consumers, this year's Vault Tour will feature an innovative, online component to engage drummers and percussionists in the experience. A micro site, which will go live in July, will host information on the tour, including all dates, and feature images and commentary on the behind-the-scenes action at the events. Visitors to the Web site will be able to vote on their favorite SABIAN prototypes, read blogs from each stop by SABIAN personnel and share their own content. The Vault Tour will be engaging drummers in major social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and MySpace.

"For the first time in Vault Tour history, we are leveraging social media platforms to truly reach a global audience," said SABIAN's VP of Marketing, Stacey Montgomery-Clark. "Photos, videos and blog accounts by our staff will enable drummers throughout the world to experience the events 'firsthand.'"

"The Vault Tour is a chance for our SABIAN team to make a personal connection with consumers and store personnel, and to demonstrate the pride and commitment that our craftsmen put into making cymbals," says Master Product Specialist Mark Love, who collaborates with such noted SABIAN players as Neil Peart (Rush), Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies) and Daniel Adair (Nickelback). "We find we learn a lot from meeting with our drummer and percussionist customers, and have developed several new cymbals based on conversations stemming from the Vault Tour."
