George Olsen, born George Edward Olsen, Sr. on March 18, 1893 in Portland, Oregon, was an American drummer and bandleader, best known for his one band, George Olsen and his Music, and appearing on Broadway in Kid Boots, the Ziegfeld Follies of 1924, and Good News.

Olsen played the drums and attended the University of Michigan, where he was drum major.

George Olsen and his Music recorded numerous records (1924 - 1933) on the Victor record label. Their recordings are among the most numerous found by collectors to date. After leaving Victor, Olsen signed with Columbia Records where he remained until January 1934. He later recorded a single session in 1938 for Decca Records, then one final record for the rare Varsity label in 1940.

George Olsen died on his birthday, March 18, 1971 in Paramus, NJ; he was 78.
