Drum's Beat

Muhtadi International Drumming and Parkinson Canada are partnering, for a second year, in pursuit of a shared vision: a better life with a brighter future for Canadians living with Parkinson's today, a world without Parkinson's tomorrow.

Join us on Sunday, December 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a 12-hour non-stop Drum-A-Thon. We are grateful to our hosts at Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas Street East, Toronto.) for the opportunity to play non-stop for 12 hours and let our drumbeats make loving and spiritual connections of our heartbeats.

Our goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of those suffering from Parkinson’s, and their families. Register by yourself, with your team, buy a t-shirt, and commit to being a part of this 12-hour drum circle, raising funds to support two important organizations.

Muhtadi Thomas has received numerous awards and commendations from communities in and around the GTA for his contributions to the artistic community and work with at-risk youth.

Most significantly, he is well-known as the founder and creative director of the highly successful two-day annual Muhtadi International Drumming Festival, which celebrates the drum, its universality as an art form, and its presence in all cultures. The festival features drumming groups of all ages and skills that display the diverse cultural traditions and drumming styles from all over the world.

The Toronto drumming community is coming out to support Muhtadi as he continues to face the challenge of Parkinson’s disease. Bring your drum or use one of ours and join us for a fun day of drumming for the whole family!

Your support helps to make a difference, for Muhtadi and all Canadians living with Parkinson's. Proceeds from this event will support both the Drumming Festival and Parkinson Canada whose efforts focus on support services, education, advocacy and research toward a cure.
