Joe English

Joe English, born February 7, 1949 in Rochester, New York, is an American musician (singer and drummer) best known for playing drums in Paul McCartney's band, Wings, in the 1970s, English was also part of the Southern Rock/Jazz (fusion) group, Sea Level, an offshoot of The Allman Brothers Band, from 1978 to 1981.

Following his Christian salvation, English formed the Joe English Band, where he performed as the lead singer and drummer. The band toured the world, playing alongside other Christian bands such as Petra, DeGarmo & Key, Mylon LeFevre, Petra, and Servant. In the late 1980s, English joined Rick Cua, Phil Keaggy, and Randy Stonehill to form the Compassion All Star Band.

English left the music industry in the 1990s.
