Title: Vistalite Snare Drums
Post by: baldmann on May 03, 2005, 11:54 PM
I`m looking around for another snare and i love the look of the vistalites, but I`ve never really heard one. Anyone got any ideas on how they stack up against other snares? thanx . Peter

I have an acrylic drum made by Zickos.   I also have a set of vistalites (no ludwig snare).   It just worked out that way- I needed a clear (see through) snare quickly and they had one at the drum shop I had been looking and playing over a year.  It just happened to be a zickos and not a ludwig.

They stack up great against other snares.  They have a woody tone and are louder than stink when you lay into them.  I really like mine alot.

I think you would be happy with a 5.5 or 6.5 depth.  They are heavy drums, so take that into consideration as well.

Enjoy!
