I thought this was interesting, but I don't think you could do something that involved the mouse and play on it, could you?
My Mouse Pad at the office gets used regularly as a drum practice pad.
Of course it has to be one of the rubber ones and not the "paper thin hard faced" kind, unless you want to make alot of noise.
That being said, I certainly wouldn't buy that "rudi-pad" since there are some many old mouse pads just looking for a new purpose in life. As far as the rudiments go just print out a copy from the net, add sticks and your are ready to go..............
i actually have that rudi pad. got it as a gift. i found it a little too bouncy, but it's kind of a cute novelty, and a good reference tool.
i prefer that zildjian cymbal one; cooler.
