louis -- teach me to fly, man! i took off and landed in a cessna twice, and am jonesing for more!

I will give you a free flying lesson.  Let me know when you will be in town.

The use of the words "jonesing" and "teach me to fly" freak me out when used in the same sentence.

You would have to fly to know that is a good thing.   ;D
No one will believe it's the "Blues" if you wear a suit, 'less you happen to be an old person, and you slept in it last night!

ahh... i see you're making fine use of that "Abs of Steel" dvd!

Right you are. Glad you noticed, I'm not sure how you saw it.

I use it as a coaster for my beer mug.

The little hole in the center serves as a small reservoir for any excess moisture from the icy coldness.

 ;D ;) ;D

I work for ........ CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO! *GASP* There I said it. Actually I love it. I'm the Production Director for a group of 3 stations. I write/create/produce commercials most of the day, but also do the PM drive show on our country station. Plus a weekend shift on our Classic Rock station. I've been doing it almost 20 years now and still love it! ;)
I don't solo!

I may take the "biggest geek" award:

Internal Auditor for a bank!  Ta-daaaah!

Incredibly dull, but it pays the bills and it beats the heck out of working for a living.

I teach drums and percussion in the public schools, and write music for percussion. Don't gig very much anymore by choice, would rather spend the time with my family than on the road.

I'm a student although I did just spend some time working for a photo agency that specialises in pictures of motorsport. If anyone is interested in getting some rather nice pictures of motorsport or cars in general pm me and I'll give you their contact details.

I've been in software development for over 25 years.

I'm getting sick of software development.

Time to play drums "FULL TIME".

Ya Hoo.

Wait.... I can't pay my bills anymore.

Work? Oh, wait I get it, you mean how do I pay my bills, right?

Ok, I'm a Technical rep for a thermoplastics compounder. Not nearly as interesting as it might sound, but I do get to see lots of cool new applications, especially in the automotive world. The down side is I have to liase between the customer and the manufacturing plants when there is a complaint. I'm supposed to be like Switzerland and not take sides. The hours are good, even though I'm there 40 hours a week I work about 15-20. Otherwise I'm out here cruising the net.

I also developed http://www.LinuxGuruz.com

HEY! I use that site all the time!

I am a Sr. Systems Administrator for a once dominant website which has since dwindled in poularity due to mis-management and a firm belief you can "slash your way to profitability".

On my off time (which in itself is funny since I am on-call 24x7x365) I like to hit things with sticks..

I am the Principal of a school and have been since I was 27. (I see former students at our gigs all the time and it really flips them out!) I am 53 now and looking forward to doing something different in a couple of years. Maybe I'll finally have time to become a rock star. ;)

I am a software developer/manager for a large telecommunications company. I work in the Executive Compensation department... automating/streamlining all processes/work functions.
It gets a little "stale" at times, so thank goodness for my music interests.

I'm a steel rule die-maker. Looking to get out of that trade soon. I have recently started a part time gig as a mortgage loan originator and hope to jump into that full time fairly soon.

The techniques, though they play an important role in the early stage, should not be too restrictive, complex or mechanical. If we cling to them, we will become bound by their limitation.  Any technique, however worthy and desirable, becomes a disease when the mind is obsessed with it.

You too can enjoy the fast-paced world of DSL tech support.  Answer phone calls and stare at a computer monitor all day long.  Don't get caught falling asleep at your desk early Saturday at 6:30 in the morning, though, especially after your gig ended at 2:00 am the night before!

It's rough sometimes with my schedule after weekend gigs.  Last week I got a little over an hour of sleep after one of our gigs before work.  Fortunately, I was able to take a 6 hour "nap" right before the show.

Yeah, but do you say...

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."
