Buddy List

What's the purpose of the "Add to Buddy List" mentioned on member profile pages?  I checked the Help section but didn't see anything about it.

Buddy List and its use
You can add members to your Buddy List which helps to organize them in a way that will allow you to quickly find them. For example, Mister Acrolite is on my Buddy List. When I view the list it shows Keith's username, whether or not he's online, his email address plus any messaging services he uses (ie. AIM, MSN, etc.) and makes it easy for me to Instant Message him if need be.

When members who are on my Buddy List are online, their username names appear in bold within the Users Online list. When looking through a sea of members, having anything there to make them stand out can really help.

When conducting searches for members or sending Instant Messages to members, you can choose to only search through members on your Buddy List. Again, it's just a way to help organize your use here on the forum.

There are other features that the Buddy List will be able to take advantage of in the future, but not right now.

Dave, you were on my buddy list but I don't think you are anymore.

Sometimes Bart is on my buddy list, sometimes not. ;D

In fact I can't even find my buddy list anymore.

What is a prune message?  That can mean only one thing in my book. ;D

What is a prune message?

It tells you when you have been in the bath too long.

In the profile section, on the left, there's a link to "Edit Buddies".
