I'm not one to pimp my gigs or my friends gigs around here, but this one might be worth it to catch a new group on the rise. My new friend Phil Cox is playing his new favorite gig,  http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=64497346]Tyler and Kyle  at 12th and Porter at 11 p.m. Thursday. Phil's a good working drummer in Nashville, but the group itself has a nice sound and they write some gorgeous hooks. It's 70s AM radio pop with a slight Nashville bluesy flavor (definitely leaning towards "New Nashville" ... no twang can be found).
