Go Bears!
« on: January 20, 2007, 05:29 PM »
I'll be on a plane for much of the game tomorrow (winging my way to Orlando), so I needed to show my support somehow.  I realize much of the country is rooting for the New Orleans Saints, and that show of support is especially meaningful after all that city has been through. I feel for them, too - except for about three hours tomorrow - then I'm right there with them!

Chicago could use a little support, too - remember: we have the Cubs.  :)

So, go Bears!

The playoffs are kind of hard for me this year.  I have reason to root for all four teams.

Bears:  spent my childhood in a suburb of Chicago.
Saints:  Feel good story.  I.e., Katrina
Colts:  Born in Indy.  I'd like to see Manning achieve what he's supposed to.
Pats:  Bruschi.  Arizona grad and feel good story to come back from the stroke.

If I had to guess the outcome, I'd say Bears in a squeeker over the Saints and Pats over the Colts because Brady just plain wins big games.  We'll see!

Hmmm...  that would put the Bears together with the Pats in the Super Bowl again.  DejaVu all over again!

I'm not getting the Saints game out here, which sucks. Gonna be an emotional game for sure. The pressure is ON in that one (and on Payton's shoulders as well).
It's still Rock'n'Roll to me.

HA!  Didn't even think of that.  I seriously doubt the results would be the same as last time...  But man did I love watching the Fridge run one in for a score!

I ended up buying 4 Urlacher Jerseys, posters and an entire Bears room this Christmas for the family.  I married into this.  It can become a lot of fun since I have always favored the Packers.
Kick off time right now.  Da Bears!

Thanks!  I'm anxious to watch the game on TiVo when I get back home.  I was in a plane - stuck at the gate and then in the air - pretty much the whole time the game was going on.  I saw the last 5 minutes on Orlando airport bar TV.  :)

Good Luck in the Super Bowl Dave.
No one will believe it's the "Blues" if you wear a suit, 'less you happen to be an old person, and you slept in it last night!

Good Luck in the Super Bowl Dave.

Dave, what position do you play on the Bears?

(Sorry, couldn't resist.  It's a "pet peeve" of mine when referring to a fan as if he were on the team.  I.e., the fan says "We won!"  No, actually the team won, but as a fan you can celebrate that victory with them...  )  Sorry.  Rant over!   ;D

Hey Neighbor!

Just wanted to throw in my support for the BEARS to win the BIG ONE!

I've only lived in Chicago for a little over 4 years now and I got to see my first Bears game last season.  I love the buzz that's in the air right now!

It's exciting times...

Of course, I'm enjoying the music scene here as well!  LOL
Peace Love & Drums...

I'll be rooting for the Colts because Dungy is the former Bucs coach and because I like Peyton Manning. But I have nothing against the Bears, so may the best team win. I'll probably be more interested in Prince's halftime show!  :D

(I have kind of lost interest in pro football since coming to college and rooting for the champion Gators. I'm sure I'll follow the drafts of all the Gators from now on, and that will sway my NFL fandom.)
