Ummm. Rossanna? Hello? What kind of drummer's board is this that Porcaro's signature groove is not immediately invoked? I know you all know it, because that's one of the mandatory grooves one must play when one sits down at a kit at Guitar Center.

Dust off your bifocals - it was in the initial post!   ;D
Hit on 2. Repeat on 4.
(instructions found written on Mr. A's snare drum)

Doh! I shall give myself 10 flogs with the Hot Rods for that. And maybe some oak Pro Mark chips in the eye.  Or maybe that last part is the problem. I shall inspect!

I believe a lot of these intros would be recognized by us drummers but not by non-drummers. I agree with Mr. Whitten on this one. I bet you could put 100 non-drummers in a room and play them just the drum intro/parts to these songs and the majority of them couldn't name more than 3 or 4 of them, if that many.

"Double Shot (Of My Baby's Love)" - The Swingin' Medallions

Too many. I agree, out of most listed, very few known by non-drummers. In fact, I would bet a poll would list only 2 : "Wipe Out" and "Rock & Roll".

OK - one more : "Iron Man" - The Black Sabbath

You approach the counter to buy a cymbal when the 14-year-old clerk makes some snide remark about your brand choice. Do you:

A) Ignore it
Yes, while casually wondering which McDonald's he worked at last week.

B) Ask to see the manager to complain about his attitude
I've found this to be ineffective since the Counter Dood's manager is himself only 15.

C) Lodge the edge of the cymbal into his voice box
What?  And render a perfectly good cymbal all icky?  No thanks.  I'd then have to buy a bottle of cymbal cleaner which will olny prolong my time there.

D) Slam his face against the counter by pulling on his nose ring
Only if there was a container of Clorox Wipes handy.  But, yes.

E) B, C, & D, in no particular order

My God, you're funny, Dave! "Counter Dood"--we all had a good laugh over that one! ;D

The intro to the Spin Doctors' "Two Princes" was pretty identifiable.

Many of the Spin Doctor songs can be identified by their intros (not all drum)

Great band by the way...
