Exactly right, Dave.  And when you stop and think about it, the pedal is 24k gold plated, which means that it wouldn't take much playing to wear the gold plating off the footboard.

If I were to own that pedal (and I do own the 9002 doubles), I would never play it, just put it in a display case and wait for a few years and then put it on Ebay.

I'm wondering what price it might bring after the limited edition pedals have been made?   Hmmmm....(scratches chin)......

Its funny.  I actually do have a couple of pedals up on a shelf.  One is an old Speed King given to me by Bobby Christian when I was studying with him.  The other is a ~1922 "Ludwig Original" model 310 pedal.  All things considered I think the gold 9002 would look out of place if placed in that collection. :)
