I haven't been on in awhile, we are in the throws of moving to a new house. And with that I will sadly be missing PASIC this year. My wife and I had a great time 2 years a go when we went and met the DC gang that was there. Dinner was a lot of fun and the clinics were all awesome. All of you going have a great time and I'm sure you will keep all of us who can't go informed on the event.  Gaetano, let us know when you have your itenary for the tour so we can get out and see you.

...week of October 1st.

I was just going to say that. :)

I was struggling with whether I should go or not. I have been working my butt off since May and haven't had any spare time. My practice time has suffered greatly. Being a realtive newbie, this means my suck-i-tude level is drmatically increasing. But, I decided last week, I am gonna go. I'm making it a little reward for myself. It always gets me jazzed up and wanting to practice more and harder. Maybe it will help me kick start back into the routine.

Hope to see you there.

Glad you've decided to make it, Pat. I'll be looking for you there.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it to Columbus this year for PASIC 2007.

I do hope that those of you going have a great time (I know you will), and make a point to connect with fellow Drummer Cafe members who are also at the event. In the years past, it's always been a blast to meet others in person. Friday night is usually the best time to meet for dinner.

Use the Drummer Cafe IM system to stay in touch with each other while you're there ... if you don't have any other means. I do suggest that you contact each other before PASIC so you know who to be on the lookout for. I would suggest having Larry Lawless be the point man for the gathering ... if he's willing and not too busy with his Texas Chapter PAS commitments.

I'll try and post any information that comes available regarding the event and the Drummer Cafe gathering.

Be sure to take lots of photos and video ... wear your Drummer Cafe T-shirt ;D and spread the word about our drum/percussion community.

Ditto Bart,
Sorry you won't be there.  I will take my digital camera and try to get as much of it as I can.  Yea, Larry sent me a breakfast meeting of Drummers that play for Churches  to attend on Saturday morning already.  I will be attending that.  I have never been to one of these events before so for me to organize would not be ideal.  I will probably be fairly lost at my first one?  If other folks like Hannah or Iraq3 or Larry knows what they are going to do would please let some of us know, it would help us lost folks have some idea of what is worth attending and what not? Also, if you all come up with a place to meet for dinner or something please let me know?  You all probably know the surrounding area better than I. I will send you all my Cell number via PM this week after I go back through this thread to see who is going to be there? I got my Pasic Package last week so I am all set to go.
Wish you could make it Bart?  I hope everything is going well with you and your family also.
Maybe next time?

Thought I'd play tour guide for a couple minutes, incase anyone is interested. West of the convention is the arena district ( http://www.arena-district.com/]http://www.arena-district.com/ ), which has many restaurants and pubs. North is the area we call the Short North ( http://www.shortnorth.org/]http://www.shortnorth.org/ ), which has many art gallery's and more restaurants and pubs. Also, I think Saturday (3-Nov) will be a gallery hop. All the galleries will be open late and there will be lots of people around.

Immediately west, one block of the convention center is the North Market ( http://www.northmarket.com/]http://www.northmarket.com/ ). It has lots of places to eat. Not a bad place to grab lunch. (Back in the old days, I used to walk here from work and buy cheese sandwiches for 39 cents each.)

And, of course, if you are looking for bizarre art work I can let you know where the field of corn ( http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/OHDUBcorn.html]http://www.roadsideamerica.com/attract/OHDUBcorn.html ) is!

Thanks for that, pemfoo.  I get to the Easton area quite often, but I've not spent too much time downtown.  Handy info for future visits!

Sorry I am not able to make the trip.  I was reading the October PAS newsletter and this is the first year that they have sold out all the booths.  Have fun guys and let us know about all the good stuff.

Someone needs to put together a place to meet on maybe Friday night to hang out with the DC folks for dinner or something? I believe that was Bart's suggestion? I would like to meet some of you folks. Glad you get to make it Geatano.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my drum instructor, Dr. Doug Nottingham will be at PASIC with his own booth. I'm not sure what its for or ware it is but I will find out soon. Make sure you to check him out, he's a brilliant man.

Heres and update. I talked to him today and he told me he was going to be one of the soloists for the solo timpani thing going on Wednesday. Check him out if you have the time.

You were like the guy that never missed one of these?  I was looking forward to meeting you and Felix. I was down at my local Music Store the other day doing some Paiste business and all the guys in the drum shop have been and they told me some stories that makes me want to go even more.  I now wish I would have gotten closer with my Hotel Room. I am really starting to get excited about it.  Sorry you are not going to make it Irac3.
I have three Cafe T-shirts but my favorite one is worn out.  I guess I need to see if I can get one here by Wednesday?
