For those of you in the greater Chicago metro suburban, collar-county, tri-state area. . .

I'll be performing with the 12-piece horn band Scraps of Brass on Saturday, June 27 at Kicker's in Schiller Park, IL.

We'll cover the music of Chicago, Ides of March, Van Morrison, Sam and Dave, Aretha, The Buckinghams, and many others.  Stop out if you can - it'll be a good time!  I just hooked up with this band, this will be my first public gig with them.

Kicker's
3902 25th Ave
Schiller Park, IL

We hit at 9:30PM

Sounds like more fun than a guy should have.

What Chicago tunes are you covering?

;D

I'm serious.   :)      There are some musical experiences I'm probably going to leave the planet without having, and I get excited when I hear others having them.

There are a few bodies of material that would lead to me soiling myself if I got to perform them live - with a good band.   [rather diverse bodies of material]

- Boston
- Eric Johnson
- Chicago

Somebody let me play  Make Me Smile  with a big, good horn section.
Alternate underwear will be needed that day.

;D

[I'll bet I'm really making some of you ill now with all my recent references
to Make Me Smile.   :)   I just can't help it.  I have decided it is one of
the top 5 tunes of all time.   I can't stop listening to it.   My wife
is really getting sick of me.  :)   ]

As of last night, they plan to call:
Beginnings
Make Me Smile
Saturday in the Park
Old Days
Does Anybody Really Know What Time it is?
25 or 6 to 4

Their former drummer couldn't play the solo at the end of MMS, so they built their current arrangement without it.  I think I've convinced them that the song needs the original solo and ending, so we'll be working that out.  :)

Dave Heim

Yep, Make Me Smile just makes me smile.  What can I say?  I'm a Man and this is Only the Beginnings with this band.  And based on the party we played last Saturday in the Park, it won't be like the Old Days.  Practices are going well and we're Getting Stronger Every Day.   ;D

Me too.  Really now - can it get any better than getting to play that list?
