First festival Gig!
« on: July 27, 2009, 10:32 PM »
I am playing my very first festival gig this saturday (1-Aug) at the Norfolk Bayou Boogaloo.  There are three stages, and we have one stage all to ourselves sponsored by the Nachel Blues Network for two hour-long sets at 5 and 7:15.  I have played in my fair share of bars, but this is a first for me. The heat, thunderstorms, general public, the chaos, etc.  I did manage to round up two buddies to help me exclusively with my gear so my other band mates can concentrate on theirs.  It will be a grand experience, no doubt.

Sounds like a great time Superman

If possible you might try and record from a stereo out on the mainboard so you can relive it :D  Should be one fun time!

Outdoor/Festival gigs can be cool.  Since 99.9% of the crowd isn't necessarliy there to see YOU, it's great when people actually stop to listen!   :D

I found out today that the "stage" is actually the top deck (covered) of a paddle wheel steamer called the "Carrie B", moored along the river that runs the length of the park/venue.  Can't wait!  B.
