This has nothing to do with drumming, or a gig.

My bandmate - lead guitarist and vocalist, Brian Futch, wrote this song after a friend of my family's died in a motorcycle accident recently. It was discovered after his death by those of us outside his immediate family that he was a decorated Navy Seal who served in Viet Nam, Granada, and elsewhere. We also learned that he had become a CIA operative who spent some torturous time in a Baghdad prison several years ago. He never mentioned it, nor did he act like anything other than a proud American citizen who loved his country and living his life to the fullest extent that our freedom provides....thanks to people like him

With that, Brian wrote this song in honor of all of those heroes who serve and have served our country, living or dead, who we pass on the street every day without knowing it.

Please share the link with anyone who might appreciate the sentiment, and the abundance of raw talent my friend Brian has to share with the world.

Those are the  Real Heroes  of this country.
Thanks for telling the story.

I like it not only because I'm a Vet, it's a good song.
Thanks for sharing with us.  8)

As it happens, I am a vet myself, and Brian was a Captain in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. He went in as an enlisted, applied to OCS and was accepted. Before he became an officer, he was the Army's Soldier Of The Year two years in a row, which is pretty cool...and diifficult!

Another Vet would like to add his salute to the others here.  Great song, great story.
