On Tour with The Rat Pack
« on: October 19, 2009, 01:59 PM »
Beginning November 30, I'll be travelling the UK with a touring version of the West End London hit show, The Rat Pack. Looking forward to laying it down on some of Frank, Deano, and Sammy's best stuff.

You swinger, you - yeah baby!

Hey Todd, have you ever seen this:
http://www.amazon.com/Frank-Liza-Sammy-Ultimate-Event/dp/6302108802

You'd probably dig it, not so much Liza (although it's cool to see her long-time musical director, Bill Lavorgna, in action), but Frank is in very good form and Sammy is burnin'.

The orchestra is impeccable - they took the whole group on tour (no locals) and it's a terrific chance to hear many classic arrangements and also hear the great Irv Cottler laying it down for Frank, and (a then still teen-aged) Clayton Cameron killin' it w/Sammy.

Anyway, in light of your tour, I thought I'd mention it, you might dig it!

Have fun!

Thanks, Dave, I'm going to check that out. I've always been a huge fan of Irv Cottler, completely looked over by many when naming off the "greats". A good friend of mine makes a great case that he was the Steve Gadd of his day.
