David Stanoch

Thank you everyone, your support means all the world to me.

The distribution partnership Rhythmelodic (my company) now has with Alfred is an amazing opportunity to make Mastering the Tables of Time more accessible worldwide in terms of providing physical copies into retailers as well as increased online purchase options as well. This will benefit anyone who may want to hold and page through the book before buying in just the same way one would want to "kick the tires" and a drive a potential new car purchase around the block.

The advertising power and presence of Alfred, the world leader in educational music publishing, is a big machine I'm proud to have behind me. They can and will spread the word on the book with means that are simply out of the realm of my independent capabilities.

On that subject though, I'm quite proud of what has been accomplished with my book as an independent venture. The reviews, the book's online audio/video companion, and the free access to promote it on the web, attracted the interest of fine folks like the team @ Vic Firth and Bart right here at the Drummer Cafe, who promoted it themselves, and all that exposure culminated in the Modern Drummer Readers Poll Award.

That award, for those who might be interested, was the catalyst that attracted Alfred and a handful of similar publishers to the book. I spoke with some fine people at every interested organization but truthfully, from the start, it was with Alfred that I felt the most akin and at home. This type of vibe means everything to me in my professional associations.

I'm happy to add that this is an association that will continue to bear fruit and, as mentioned here recently on my bio page, I'm proud and fortunate to count Alfred among my educational outlets for spreading the knowledge and the joy of drumming.

Finally, I'd like to share one last thought on the matter and that is if you have a goal or dream you believe in, don't quit on it. I worked on my book for ten years because it offered an approach I found proven results with for myself before I even considered it as as something that could benefit others.

I took the time to lay it out and present it with great care. I was told at that time by some of my strongest supporters that the material ranked with some of the classics in our literature that it has since been compared to. True or not, I took that notion to heart and I studied up on those materials to try to create something timeless (seriously, no pun intended) and of lasting value.

Today people all over the world have been buying the book and letting me know how much they are enjoying it. I'm elated. And, my distribution deal is just that - distribution. At the end of the day, it's still 100% my book, copyrighted and secure. Alfred believes in the book enough to offer me a generous arrangement in which they take a percentage and offer their resources to benefit us both from a business perspective, but they are simply (in the legal parlance) "adjunct to my enterprise." On my end, I have complete faith in them and feel both comfortable with the offer and happy for the opportunity.

So like I say, if you have a goal or dream in the back of your mind, or already in progress, follow through! You never know what might happen. I'm living proof.

Thanks again everyone & cheers!
