Sony/Legacy is releasing  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KREVEC?ie=UTF8&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002KREVEC]The Essential "Weird Al" Yankovic  on the 27th. Al's in good company with other artists in the Essential series such as Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Hall & Oates, Paul Simon, Cheap Trick, Barbra Streisand, and many others.

Although we're not touring this year, and this release is really a hits package arriving shamelessly in time for Christmas, Al is doing some press and dragging the band along for good measure. We'll be appearing on the Jimmy Fallon Show (NBC) the night of October 28th (or early morning on the 29th, depending on your time zone,) performing " http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LHSAOI?ie=UTF8&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002LHSAOI]CNR ", our White Stripes style parody (or pastiche, homage, whatever...) Don't miss me in my finest Meg White outfit, and if the airline doesn't lose it, a cool surprise on the kit.

Love it man! I'll be sure to DVR the Jimmy Fallon Show.

The Essential Weird Al Yankovic

Oh ... and Happy 50th Birthday Al.

Chip Donaho

Brian is going to love this.... Thanks for the heads up.  ;)

NY Frank

Bermuda - how about coming up with a sign on TV for us DCers watching.

Kinda like when Carol Burnett used to tug her ear lobe to say hi to her family at the end of the show.

:)

With any luck, the camera won't be on me very much!

NY Frank

Well, if the camera is on you and you have a free hand, tug your ear lobe for us.   :)

I know... if I play anything faster than a 1/4 note, that'll be for Drummercafe!

Love it!

If both hands are free ... or better still, at the end before Jimmy tries to shake your hand, give us the Drummer Cafe gang sign.

Jon E

We're more like "Our Gang".

That'd be like an extended version of the drum solo you usually do in a Weird Al show!  :)

Nice job Bermuda. I dug the Kick drum resonant head. I take it that this is what you brought on the plane for the backline kit.

How did you grow your hair out so fast?! Very becoming. Cool that you all used the Jib-Jab video.

I wanted to see you mix it up with Hulk Hogan, but oh well.

Was the rest of the band jealous that they didn't get to do the gig?
