Can any of you cats tell me where I can find good drum wrap? I want to recover an old kit and I want to do it it myself - is this crazy? I am looking for wrap that is already cut to size, and not glitter or pearl ...

Thanks for answering me, and thanks for the tip - normally I would definitely have them wrapped by a pro, but I want to try doing it myself with this old kit. Drummaker.com's patterns are too retro for my taste, I was hoping to find something modern, and I found this site which is amazing! Does anyone have experience with the product? Because I think i want something from here:  http://www.drum-wraps.com]www.drum-wraps.com , which links to  http://www.lumigraf.ca]www.lumigraf.ca  - I called them and just about all the patterns on the lumi site can be drum wrap too, AND they will precut for me! Wish me luck with my DIY!  8) I will be back for advice on actual installation...

Contact Andy Foote at  http://www.drummaker.com]DrumMaker.com .

Not only do they have a huge selection of drum wraps, but Andy can literally make ANY color wrap and design that you want. Have you seen the department stores where they mix the paint color for you, matching any thing you have or want? Well, it's like that ... only for your drums!

By the way,  http://www.drummaker.com]Drum Supply House  has been a sponsor and supporter of the Drummer Cafe.

Also look into  http://www.sicskinz.com]www.sicskinz.com . They have a wide variety of wraps and can also do custom wraps.

After much research I decided I prefer a more modern look, and I also decided to start with just a snare, kind of a test of my diy abilities. I ordered the Seagull pattern in silver from Lumigraf. It looks better than I hoped, everyone loves it. I had help with the recovering, lucky I found that I actually know someone who knows his stuff and didn't mind helping me. It wasn't as complicated as I thought it would be, but I definitely needed the help. Thanks for the advice y'all!

I think many of us would like to see the finished product. Post a photo when you have time.

Yes, show us what a "more modern look" looks like.  :-\

That Lumigraf stuff looks pretty interesting.

Thanks for the lead!
