Kristen Bussandri

I'd love to use superlatives here (as we all would when shamelessly self-promoting) but suffice it to say: I'm thumping the drums behind her on these recordings.

Hit this site:  http://www.kristenbussandri.com/fr_welcome.cfm]Kristen Bussandri  and go to the music page and stream the tunes. If you like them, please, hit her up and then get your download code. I wasn't cheap in the studio (nor live)  8)

and ....we're doing NYC soon...PM me for details!

No sweat there.
Superb playing, and excellent drum sounds. Very tasty.
I can't really think of enough superlatives.
The music is sort of old fashioned, but the songs are great....... great singing and playing from everyone involved. It's a mystery why an artist of this quality has to fund and release their own album.
Is this what we've come to?

Chris, you've made my day. My week. Perhaps my year. Thank-you very, very much.

Would you mind if I pass your kind words on to Kristen?

And Frank - Thanks! PM me as we're in NYC at the end of August....

Tim,
I haven't followed all your work, but from the stuff I've checked out in the past, this time you've broken through to a very high standard that's hard to fault.
Pass on my comments to whoever you like, but it shouldn't be relevant IMO, your playing, sound and attitude speaks for itself.

Is it wrong to love another drummer? Not on this site.  ;)

Thank-you. Thank-you. Thank-you.

Tim,

I'm late to this in the sense that I've been listening to those tracks you did w/Kristen for a couple of days. Just haven't had a minute to log in...

You have Mr. Whitten's feedback, so there's nothing I could say that would make the same kind of impact, obviously. I just wanted to tell you how much I love listening to... the music, her, you...it's just plain killer, Tim!

Take a bow!!  :)

I haven't had time to watch Bart's interview w/Danny Seraphine yet, but I hope to do that soon.

I mention it 'cuz I read an interview once in Down Beat where Seraphine reflected on his lessons w/Jo Jones, and Danny said a guiding light for him when recording & performing w/Chicago was the a mantra of Jo's: "If you do something right, it's timeless."

To my ears that's what you've got here, my friend.

Good on ya, & congrats. I'm pretty sure anybody's who's heard it envies and admires you for your musical excellence.

Bravo!

Was this the stuff you were doing at Studio Victor Tim?
The drum sound is a cut above the average recording.
Also, cymbals sound ace. I presume Paiste  :-\ .....what was the cymbal line up?

I know the playing of the drums and cymbals.... and the skill in the recording are big factors, arguably biggest factors, but anyway....

Hi Chris;

This was not done at Studio Victor; this was done in another studio in Montreal called Studio 270. It is a very nice room (lots of wood) and it had a nice, comfortable vibe. And I think that it sounds pretty nice, too.

As for the drums and cymbals, I used my Pearl Ultracast snare (5x14) with my red Yamaha kit you normally see me playing (Stage Custom Advantage Nouveau 15x18, 9x12, 14x14). The cymbals are all Paiste; I am using 14" 2002 Sound Edge Hats, 22" Dark Energy Mark II Ride, 20" Giant Beat and 18" Giant Beat.
