American instrumental "surf" rock band, The Ventures, was formed in 1958 in Tacoma, Washington by Don Wilson and Bob Bogle. The group, with its various incarnations over the (especially with drummers), made a lasting impact on the development of music worldwide. With over 100 million records sold, The Ventures is one of the best-selling instrumental bands of all time. In 2008, the Ventures were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In this video clip we get to see and hear The Ventures with The United States Air Force Band along with The Ventures' first drummer, George Babbitt ... that is four-star General George T. Babbitt, Jr. ... who was the very first drummer to play Walk Don't Run in 1959. Babbitt unfortunately had to leave the because he was only 17-years-old ... not old enough to play in bars or nightclubs.

Music history buffs will truly enjoy this video as The Ventures honor their original drummer.

How cool is that?  Babbitt and I share two things in common.  We're both drummers and both retired Air Force.  :)   Thanks for sharing this, Bart.
